Clear or Cloudy is a profoundly astute description of the composer's career, encompassing both the great sound clouds of his micropolyphonic work of the 1960s, such as Atmosphères, Volumina, Lux aeterna, and Lontano, and the crystalline clarity of his early years, demonstrated in Six Bagatelles for wind quintet and his first String Quartet, as well as in his Etudes pour piano and Piano Concerto from his final period.

I told a student I could explain how to learn to play jazz in 5 minutes, but
that the difficulty lies in the application. Of course the student then
asked me to do so. It took me more than five minutes to explain it to him,
but after culling it down I came up with what follows.
Jazz in 9 Sentences.
Jazz is made up of Sound, Time and Changes and developing each is the job of
a jazz musician.
First, have a model. Pick a player who fits firmly and comfortably in the
mainstream. Could your favorite player make a gig with Louis Armstrong, Ella
Fitzgerald, and Miles Davis on three separate nights? This addresses Sound
and Time.
Changes: Know your chords. If you can play arpeggios, major scales and the
chromatic scale you know enough to create solos or accompaniments in the
style of your model player. Start with arpeggios, and then learn to connect
chord tones with scales, while keeping the chord tones on the beat. If you
stay focused on your model player and diligently apply this method, you will
make remarkable progress if you persevere.

Solo de Sean Levitt
Me gustaría compartir la transcripción de este solo del magnifico guitarrista Sean Levitt , que desgraciadamente murió hace unos años.
En esta grabación "casera" de una actuación en directo toca con el organista Lou Bennett y con su padre ,el batería Al Levitt.
El solo va sobre la armonia de autumn leaves, con cambios de acordes un poco diferentes del original.
Está también el audio (mp3) para que disfruteis de su increíble fraseo.
El solo comienza en la segunda A del tema.
