This documentary focuses on the Brazilian musical form born in the early 1950s and uses the anecdotes and musings of two of the greatest living composers from this unforgettable era: Roberto Menescal (composer of the classical "O Barquinho") and Carlos Lyra (of the timeless "Lobo Bobo, Coisa Mais Linda" and "Voce e Eu.")

Trivia:
The most important singer of the Bossa Nova Movement, Joćo Gilberto (the original performer of "Desafinado", "Chega de Saudade" and many others) is living in Rio as a recluse and refused to participate in the film.

The EBow is a hand-held electronic bow for guitar. The small battery-powered unit replaces the pick in the right hand letting the guitarist mimic strings, horns, and woodwinds with unbelievable sensitivity. The EBow produces a powerful infinite sustain, rich in harmonics for incredible guitar sounds.

The project is a free knowledge database for improvising musicians. BopLand.org database contains hundreds of jazz licks over most common chord progressions. While not only oriented towards jazz musicians, but towards other musicians as well, the majority of patterns present in the database were composed during the bebop era. Hence comes the name.
